A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL

Okay, Now Bush is saying he never connected Saddam with 9/11. Since Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have been the major financiers of Al-Qaeda -- and Saudi Arabia the major nation responsible for the spread of the extremist, fundamentalist Wahabi form of Islam. And since 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi and none were Iraqi. And since Osama (who Bush still hasn't caught) is Saudi....

Oh well, you get the picture. The thought that Saddam was connected to 9/11 didn't spring into people's head like a psychotic thought. No, it was firmly implanted there through a drumbeat of Bush Administration rhetoric implying the connection. Cheney is still claiming the connection!

In the run-up to the Iraq War, Bush primarily used a linguistic technique called "mirroring." He would say things like, "We must fight back and defeat the terrorists who planned and financed 9/11, that is why Saddam must be removed from power." In such a sentence, the speaker can technically say he did not specifically claim Saddam was responsible for 9/11, but the human mind, upon hearing the sentence, believes that's exactly what the speaker said.

The White House carefully designed Bush's endless use of "mirroring" language on 9/11 and Saddam, so that Bush could have a meaningless "technical" out in case the Iraq War failed -- which would be an understatement.

Meanwhile, the Bush Administration spokespeople -- led by the psychotic, dangerous to America, and five-time Vietnam draft dodger Cheney -- directly claimed a Saddam connection to 9/11, even to this day. (In typical Orwellian fashion, on a slow news day a couple of years ago, the White House released a statement by Bush acknowledging that there was no proof that Saddam had any connection to 9/11. Although, BuzzFlash is obligated to point out that there is proof Saddam had a connection to Donald Rumsfeld and the Reagan Administration.)

In two recent polls, more than 40% of Americans still believed that Saddam was involved with 9/11. The vast majority of soldiers fighting in Iraq -- U.S. soldiers -- believe Saddam was involved with 9/11, even though 80% believe U.S. troops should leave Iraq within a year!

Okay, when will the Democrats say enough is enough -- and the lunatics need to be removed from power?

Here's a simple choice.

You can stand up for people like Feingold and Murtha who are trying to save our Constitution and our troops; or you can stand in fear of bringing up the lies and incompetence of Cheney and Bush who are trying mightily to bring this nation to its feet.

Make the choice: You're either on the side of those fighting for America, our future, our principles, and our Bill of Rights -- or you quiver in fear of exposing the incompetent, destructive liars.

Make the choice.
