Florida Dem. Bob Graham: Election '06 NOT a good bet for Democrats to take the House.."

Heard on CNN "news" at the top of the hour (7:00pm) today during a rebroadcast of the Randi Rhodes show (Air America Radio) by a Clear-Channel station:
Former Florida Senator (and before that, Governor) Bob Graham, stating that the Democrats had at best a 50-50 chance of winning the House back in 2006.
Of course, the Senator is correct: every day as this summer rushes towards the November elections sees the Democrats either; A.) slash-and-bashing each other, or; B.) trying to provide the "perfect plan" for the Iraq war.
WHY don't the Democrats "GET IT"???
Republicans 'won' MONOPOLY CONTROL over all branches of the US government by RELENTLESSLY BASHING DEMOCRATS!
In the cases of "Lincoln bedroom scandal," "Travel-office 'scandal'," and "White House trashing" 'scandal,' the REPUBLICANS CREATED SCANDALS OUT OF THIN AIR!
Since those days.. when the Democrats at least held the House and the Senate, the Democrats have lost both, and have helped corporate America CONSOLIDATE the control of the vast majority of the press/media that most Americans watch and get their 'news' from.
Worse, the Democrats are STILL RELUCTANT to CONFRONT Mr. Bush and his out-of-control White House...
Today, DNC Chair howard Dean was giving us Democrats SOME "red meat," going on the attack against Chickenhawk Karl Rove's depiction of Democrats as "Cut and Runners." Excuse us, Mr. Rove, you appalling piece of human ****..... not only did John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, and Harry Truman VOLUNTEER for COMBAT DUTY in their country's wars, but Harry Truman was so overage that he had to work at being admitted to the wartime Army as a former Reserve officer.
(Note: it is true that Lyndon Johnson went on one, and only one, USAAF bomber raid against Japanese bases during his "tour-of-duty" in the Southwest Pacific; a mission that saw several B-26 bombers shot down, those men who Johnson had talked with an hour earlier gone forever an hour or so later. It is true that Johnson, a sitting Congressman, 'pulled strings' and went back to Congress, never to come close to combat again, after that one deadly, hazardous mission. And it is true that he was "awarded" a medal for bravery during that mission by the military, despite no other officers or fliers on that mission receiving any such medals. But, by God, he DID go on that one mission, which is 10,000,000 times more than Karl Rove, Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly ever did.)

Returning to Senator Graham, the Senator is, sad to say, a big part of the problem. A former Governor and sitting Senator, Graham was a big part of the "establishment" as Florida went from a Democratic "Blue state" to a "Red state" run like a crime family by Jeb Bush and the Republican government. (Want proof? Quick: WHAT IS FLORIDA's current BUDGET DEFICIT(s)?
You don't know, do you! The reason is those missing billions are now in the pockets of the crime family and their corporate donors, AND THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW what Florida's deficit is. And the cowardly, lying Florida press/media PLAYS ALONG with the CORRUPT, "keep the voters ignorant and feed them ****" Republican agenda.)
Senator Graham was on the Senate INTELL committee, and had SEVERE MISGIVINGS about the Bush-Cheney CONFLATION of Iraq and 9-11 in the months after the 9-11 attack, to gain support for the US invasion of Iraq.
BUT Senator Graham NEVER STAKED HIS ALL on those concerns, instead citing his "secrecy" and "confidentiallity" agreements as the reasons he could not go public, or more forcibly so, with his opposition to the Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld conduct of the war. All of those concerns later came out in the Senator's book, "Intelligence Matters" which he published after he announced he would not run for reelection to the senate, which is now an excellent source about the serial Republican mismanagement of the war and the "war on terror" in general.
On issues from media disinformation to Florida voter disenfranchisement to lies-to-war to troops without adequate supplies and equipment to torture and tax-cuts and deficits and Republican ONE PARTY RULE, Senator Graham HAD A CHANCE to MAKE HISTORY and help to DEFINE THE NEWS... but instead he is now just another ex-official Democrat HAPLESS as Republicans DEFINE THE ISSUES and command the news, juggernaut set to give president bush YET ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY (should Republicans retain the House in 2006) to parade around touting his "mandate" and "political capital."
