The preceding post post by Big Dave from Queens NY is the G-REAT! enumeration of Joe Lieberman's HYPOCRISIES and SELLOUTS, but even Big Dave's list, as good as it is, OMITS the BIGGEST THREE Lieberman betryals.
So forewith here are Joe Lieberman's cosmic-class, in-defense-of-corruption, disenfranchisement, tryanny, and Republican-lies betrayals and treacheries. Which, sad to say, are emblematic of the ENTIRE top-tier of the Democrat Party over these past dreadful six years:
#3. Given the SINGULAR HONOR of being put on the Democratic Vice Presidential ticket, with at least a 50-50 chance of becoming the nation's next Vice President... JOE LIEBERMAN doesn't even have the class or cajones to give up his senate re-election campaign! NOT only was Joe given the singular honor of being THE Democratic VP nominee, but Vice President Al Gore also conferred that honor on Mr. Lieberman, the FIRST JEWISH CANDIDATE so nominated by either major party!
By comparison, BOB DOLE had the class to not only drop his Senate Majority leader position.. but Dole DROPPED OUT (resigned) FROM THE US SENATE AS WELL! Heck, according to Sen. Trent Lott (who replaced Dole as Senate Republican leader) "But I'm sure that if Bob Dole had chosen, he could have had lifetime tenure as the Republican leader in the Senate. In fact, he holds the record in length of service as the Republican leader -- sometimes in the minority, Tom, and sometimes in the majority."

SO- Joe Lieberman not only doesn't have the class of Bob Dole, but he held on to his Senate race, even though had Gore-Lieberman won the presidential race, a REPUBLICAN governor of Connecticut at the time would have appointed a REPUBLICAN Senator to replace the new VP from Conn.

TOPPING that BETRAYAL, if possible, was Joe Lieberman's tenure as CHAIRMAN, SENATE Governmental Affairs Committee in late 2001 and early 2002, when that committee was given the duty of overseeing the Senate ENRON hearings. Joe did NOT deserve that committee chair from his own leadership efforts or diligence - the Senate majority (and chairmanship of senate committees) was HANDED BACK to Sen. Lieberman by the courageous Vermont Senator JIM JEFFORDS, who (to be redundant) COURAGEOUSLY DEFIED the 'leadership' of George W.Bush, Senator Jeffords "DEFECTING" from his lifetime of service to the Republican Party. Senator Jeffords did not take this step lightly - even 5 years on, the very word "defection" carries an extreme negative conotation. No, Senator Jeffords SWITCHED PARTIES, and HANDED THE MAJORITY BACK TO THE DEMOCRATS, because he knew the the Bush administration was OUT OF CONTROL, ARROGANT, OVERBEARING, operated by using INTIMIDATION, and was possibly even corrupt.
GIVEN the great honor of once again being a Committee Chairman by virtue of Jefford's courageous defiance of the Bush White House, WHAT did JOE LIEBERMAN DO...?
ans.- He, Joe Lieberman, promptly threw a WET BLANKET on the SENATE ENRON INVESTIGATION, thereby BETRAYING THOUSANDS of Enron workers, pensioners, customers, and investors DOWN_THE_RIVER. Not only that, but by STONEWALLING such an investigation, Lieberman effectively gave a GREEN LIGHT to the Bush administration ALLOWING Enron to LOOT MILLIONS OF CALIFORNIA RATE PAYERS, that is electric consumers.
Joe Lieberman, by short-sheeting the Enron investigation, BETRAYED HIS CONSTITUENTS, BETRYAED THOUSAND OF ENRON WORKERS, BETRAYED MILLIONS OF ENRON extorion victims (electric consumers); and BETRAYED HIS PARTY, DENYING the Democrats in 2002 the single issue which would have defined the Bush adminsitration as BOTH INCOMPETENT *AND* CORRUPT.

And as bad as the previous two BETRAYALS were, they do not even come close to #1: In the summer and fall of 2000, Joe Lieberman campaigned all over America, soliciting SUPPORT from elderly, minority, disabled, and other disadvantaged voting groups. But not only did Mr. Lieberman SELL THOSE GROUPS OUT by NOT FIGHTING energetically and actively to have ALL the votes recounted in Florida (as per state law at the time); but Mr. Lieberman went that betrayal one step worse: HE REFUSED TO SIGN ON TO the Black Congressional Caucus' DEMAND and PLEA for a CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION INTO FELONY VOTE FRAUD and serial voter DISENFRANCHISEMENT by Republican authorities in Florida in 2000.
NO ONE IN AMERICA better represents the BETRAYAL of this rock-bottom principle of DEMOCRACY - that ALL American voters are ENTITLED to have THEIR VOTES counted fairly and accurately.
Mr. Lieberman, you are the very face of DIEBOLD DISENFRANCHISEMENT - BETRAYAL OF DEMOCRACY - in America, even over Katherine Harris and Ken Blackwell and Wally O'Dell, the campaign chairs for Ohio and Florida, and the CEO of Diebold, respectively.
