Bravo! Lieberman's wet-kiss flirtation with Right-Wing Lynch-Mob encapsulated in one sentence!

You may recognize that final sentence as the soft outer frontier of the rhetoric that ends up in a place where newspeople are accused of treason and where roam free the eliminationist fantasies of the lunatic right. It's where we find "reasonable" people treating John Yoo's authoritarian delusions as though they had something to do with America. I couldn't care less if Ned Lamont once took a Republican stand on water rates. I saw enough last night to know he'd never say anything like that. >>

As readers may have noticed (!!), we here at C-dems.blgspt.com are angry, over-the-top, outraged, enraged, and furious over the treachery of 'belly-of-the-beast' establishment Democrats SIGNING ON TO the radical-right Republican agenda of DISENFRANCHISEMENT, SECRECY, looted treasury, incompetence and corruption in the war on terra; corruption and incompetence in the use of FEMA and national emergency funding as no more than a kickback-slush fund to reward Bush-GOP donors; tax cuts for billionaires while hammering the middle-class and blue-collar working class with huge increases in state, local, and other taxes, and hammering American citizens with higher energy, insurance, health, and education costs; etc. etc. etc ad infinitum.

And, for those who have not yet read "Made in Texas: George W. Bush and the Southern Takeover of American Politics," (see Amazon.com) the bottom line is that today's Radical Right Republican Party is almost identical, in agenda if not yet tactics, with the intimidation, hierarchical society, and intolerance of the post-confederate segregationist south. What songwriter Neil Young captured so well in his musical survey of the Deep South landscape during the turbulent '60s, "tall white mansions, and little shacks."

Charles Pierce captures this thin veneer of modern PR skills on the old LYNCH-MOB mentality perfectly: "ELIMINATIONIST FANTASIES" and "AUTHORITARIAN DELUSIONS" of the "LUNATIC RIGHT."

The LOS ANGELES TIMES ** FIRED ** journalist Robert Scheer, the one writer at the Times with the courage, conviction, and common sense to point out that this is a modern SLAVE-TRADE AGENDA, and now Mr. Yoo can write his naziesque claptrap at the (LA) Times WITHOUT REBUTTAL - thanks to a craven, corrupt, complicit press, and clueless, cowering, belly-of-the-beast democrats who are perfectly willing to throw the human rights, civil rights, voting rights, and public rights gained over the past 100 years down the drain, if it means they don't have to confront Karl Rove, George Bush, Dick Cheney, and the Republican media machine.

It is NO EXAGGERATION... NO over-the-top excess.. to point out that what Bush, Yoo, and the Radical Right Republican Party wants is synonymous with slavery: According to these "war powers" ("unitary government") proponents, if the president's agents descend on an Afghan village - ANY such agents, including rogue Afghan warlords temporarily allied with US military commanders - round up all males there, and throw them into a US gulag as part of the war on terror, IT IS WELL WITHIN the president's 'rights.'

So - what happens if the president's agents - whether Afghan warlords, American military personnel, or American "contractor" mercenaries - round up all the men from THREE towns and villages? Or maybe FIVE towns and villages? Or, what if, as in Vietnam, the president declares ENTIRE SWATHS of a country to be "enemy territory" - "VC TERRITORY!" and declare a "FREE FIRE ZONE" in that region?

This is, no more and no less, license to KILL on a massive scale. This is the modern 21st century version of running the natives out of Georgia, New England, California, the Dakotas - George Armstrong Custer and the 7th Calvary looking to "whup ass" on an entire peoples, or Andrew Jackson successfully doing exactly that.

THAT is exactly what Mr. Bush and the radical right want... and very, very few commentators have come out and stated the obvious.

Indeed, the whore-ific LOS ANGELES TIMES is IN FULL SUPPORT of these new genocidal leanings of the US government, and therefore, by extension, the American people.
